Secondary students took a field trip to Pasado’s Safe Haven, an animal sanctuary in Monroe, as part of their Immersion activities. They learned about the work of the organization in rescuing animals that were being mistreated, their advocacy for policies that help animals and their educational outreach. Then students enjoyed a tour of the large facilities, meeting chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, donkeys, cats, dogs, llamas, alpacas and pigs. If you see a Secondary student around campus, ask them how Pasado’s got its name.
The Middle School and High School have a few days of Immersion activities at the end of each quarter. Immersion offers students activities that are completely different from their usual school work, providing a break and a refresher between quarters.
