WMHS’ Secrets of Secondary
WMHS’ Secrets of Secondary is a blog featuring content both made by and about Woodinville Montessori High School and Middle School. Students and faculty may report on what they are learning and doing at school, through artwork, articles, creative writing and opinion pieces. Each student will write at least one piece of content for the blog.
WMHS, Woodinville Montessori High School
Woodinville Montessori High School (WMHS) is an independent Montessori school that prepares students for college by offering a high-quality holistic education. WMHS presently comprises grades 7-11, and will add grade 12 in the 2016-2017 school year.
Following the multi-year class naming tradition in the lower grades, the Middle School (grades 7 & 8) is called the “Ginkgo” class and the High School (grades 9 & up) is called the “Ash” class.
The academically challenging program is designed to foster independence, love for learning and global awareness.
Our ideology and philosophy are based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. Our program embraces and consciously implements her ideas on individual learning, community development, environmental awareness and world peace.
Students graduate from our program ready for college academics—or for art, technical or culinary school—or any other path they may choose. They leave WMHS as confident advocates for their own learning, and as strong leaders.
